This is the official website of the St Joseph's Marist College (SJMC) Past Pupils Community. The purpose of this site, is to enable past pupils of the SJMC to contact each other and stay in touch. Many of us have simply lost touch with our peers after leaving school, and by registering on this site you are aiding in developing the platform to reconnect with past peers. Please use this site and get anyone that you know who was at school with you to join. The more people that join the greater the potential for networking with one another.
In 2008 the new Chairman, Jon O’Hanlon, set about his tenure with a new approach which comprised three key points, these being to:
- Remove the primary focus of the committee from the College and its activities and to focus almost totally on the re-building of the Past Pupils body.
- Avoid, for the time being, any attempts at fundraising within the Past Pupils community.
- Drive towards a strong (in numbers) group of Past Pupils who were committed and willing to be involved, either financially or in body. With this backing to then turn our focus back on the College to provide support and assist in making changes where necessary and as required.
We have had regular monthly get together's which are fairly well attended; we had an Annual Dinner, albeit an informal one; we have a Facebook community of over 700 past pupils; we have just built and released our new website (you’re looking at it) – and this is only the start.
